History of Incidents

Since the start of the large-scale conflict in Ukraine, a string of Russian military commanders have been subjected to assaults within Moscow.

This latest event follows other serious incidents, for instance:

  • General Yaroslav Moskalik was died in a car bomb attack in Moscow earlier this year.
  • General Igor Kirillov died in late 2024 when a explosive hidden on a scooter was detonated remotely.

While a source from Ukraine previously linked Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such allegations are not publicly admitted as a matter of policy.

Hostilities has been marked by clandestine operations reaching into the center of the Russian capital.

The examination into General Sarvarov's death continues to be ongoing.
