David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

The author

Prolific children's author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the firm stated: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the decision was made after an inquiry regarding allegations of inappropriate behaviour involving young women.

The firm did not confirm the motivations for this action, adding: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams stands as a most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over more than 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes over four dozen titles in total, encompassing a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

From Screen to Page

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
