Iran Claims Strike on American Facility in Bahrain, Amid Regional Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in response for a "massive" and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity near the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any damage is unclear and the United States has remained silent.
Regional Interceptions
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - said they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck areas associated with the Iranian leadership, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the government.
Regional Fallout
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with high efficiency and shot down a several projectiles," it added.
Officials reported missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
