Pat Bamford Signs With the Blades After Initiating Abusive Chants About Manager Chris Wilder

Patrick Bamford has joined Sheffield United just seven months following leading disrespectful songs targeting their manager, Wilder.

The 32-year-old striker, without a club after departing from Leeds United, has put pen to paper on a contract joining the Championship club in difficulty until January. Bamford's seven-year time with Leeds was ended amicably this past summer.

Among Bamford’s last memorable actions as a Leeds player included starting offensive chants about Wilder amid Leeds' success festivities this spring. Now, the former England player will be playing under Wilder as the Blades’ manager aims to pull the team he loves out of the bottom places.

Past Conflict Involving Bamford & the Manager

Both men had a past prior to Leeds earned promotion to the top flight last season while Sheffield United were defeated in the playoff final by Sunderland. Wilder described Bamford as a "muppet" when the roles were reversed in 2018-19 and Sheffield United won direct promotion while Leeds missed out in the promotion playoffs.

Reconciliation and Moving Forward

Everything appears has been resolved with United, the league's lowest scorers, urgently requiring of a boost up front and Bamford aiming to resurrect his career.

The song about Wilder spread widely in April. An apologetic Patrick and the Leeds manager, Farke, called Wilder the next day.

Wilder stated back then: “Had a conversation with Patrick yesterday and I’ve no problem whatsoever with it. I’m not sure about the language from a fellow professional! However I valued and respected him calling me.

“We spent 20 minutes and the same again I talked with Daniel Farke too and we had a half-hour chat together and he is a super guy, a class act. When I was playing we used to dish it out and accept it and that is part and parcel of football at every level, even on a Sunday morning. I've got absolutely no issue. I am cool with it and I told him that to Pat.”

Recent Career Challenges

The forward made 18 games for Leeds last season however the ex- Nottingham Forest, Chelsea FC and Boro player has faced difficulties with fitness issues in recent years.
